About “Aswesuma Welfare Benefits Programme”

President Ranil Wickremesinghe initiated the “Aswesuma” Welfare Benefits Scheme As part of the social safety net to alleviate the Onlinging Economic Crisis. Under the Aswesuma Scheme, 400,000 Transitional Beneficiaries will receive Rs.2,500 per month until December 31, 2024, and 400,000 Vulnerable Beneficiaries will receive Rs.5,000/- per month. Finance Minister Mr. Shehan Semasinghe is overseeing it with Involvement from various Government Agencies including the Ministry of Finance.
