Goroka Is located in the highland, 1700 meters above sea level, and has a pleasant climate. the population of Goroka is over 20,000. The University is situated on a plateau Overlooking the town. It is the 3rd Largest University in Papua New Guinea. The UOg was formed in 1997.

The Academic Year is divided into two Semesters of thirteen weeks each. there are study breaks in each semester. A copy of the University Calendar will be given to you on Arrival.
