All Govt Schools Under the Purview Of the Southern Provincial Council Will Function On All 5 Days Of the Week From 25/07/2022. According to the Education Secretary of the Southern Province.

Accordingly, When Schools Resume, Students Will be Expected to Come to School On Mondays Tuesday and Thursdays, While Online Learning Methods Will be Observed On Wed and Friday.

It Further States that the First Term of the 2022 School Year Will be Extended Until September 7, 2022 While the Durations Of the Second and Third Schools Terms Will be Notified Later.

A Decision Has Been Made Not to Hold Schools Located in Major Cities in the Colombo Region and Adjoining Cities Of the Western Province & Major Cities in Other Provinces in the Week From June 20-24. Permission Was Granted to the Provincial Education Officers to Start and Maintain Schools in Schools With Low Number of Students At the Divisional Level Under Conditions Where Transporation Difficulties Do Not Affect the Students, Teachers and Principals.
