Recruitment For the Defence Force is a Continuous Process as it aims at filling the Vacancies created annually through retirements, resignations, discharges and deaths.
The Purpose of Recruitment is to Ensure that the Majority of the Members in the Force are Young and Energetic People Between the Ages of 18 & 40. This Age Bracket is For those Who are Physically Able to Withstand the Chaotic Nature & Physical Demands of the Battlefield. It is therefore important that the Defence Force is Constantly Manned By a Good Number of Young Cadres While Also Retaining a Considerable Number of Middle Aged Officers & Men to Groom & Mentor the Young Ones.

A Career in the Namibian Defence Force is a Permanent But Voluntary Undertaking as your Constitution Outlaws Conscription. Soldiers Follow a Career Path that involves both Physical Military and Academic Training. The Soldiers Growth Path Depends On their Achievements in Training Courses Attended, Operations Participated in and the Command and Staff Appointments Held in the Performance of their Duties.

The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs Hereby Informs the Shortlisted Candidates Listed to Report their Respective Regional Centres On 5th February 2025 to Undergo Pre Entry and Physical Fitness Tests.
Only those Candidates Who are Successful Shall Proceed to the Next Phase, they Shall be Notified & they Must Make Provisions For Own Accommodation, Meals and Transport. The Entire Process is Expected to be Finalised By the March 7th, 2025.
All Candidates Who Did Not Make It After Pre-Entry Test Will not be Contacted

Former Members of the People’s Liberation Army Of Namibia and the South West Africa Territory Force Were Demobilised and Many of them Were Integrated into Unified Namibian Defence Force.
