The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria Was Establshed By Act of Parliment no 15 of 1965.
The Institute is Governed by the Council and Committee Structure. The Governing Councl is Charged With the Policy Direction and General Management of the Institute.
The ICAN Council Comprises 30 Memebers of the Institute. 24 are elected by members while 6 are nominated by the government from the 6 Geo-Political Zones of the Country.
