The National Teaching Council (NTC) has successfully conducted the Ghana Teacher licensure Examination from July 18th -20th, 2025. As per the reports Over 37,000 applicants have taken the Teacher licensure exams across Ghana. Out of the above 5,000 Re-sitters, the rest are freshers or first-time applicants. The Examination is expected to last two hours.

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu is optimistic that the National Teaching Council will organize one more opportunity for current teacher trainees to resit the licensure exams before his August 30, 2025, deadline.

The Minister urged them to give their best, particularly first-time Test takers, reassuring them of an opportunity to resit the exam if they do not pass.

The Ghana teacher licensure Exam is not just a Formality; it is a quality control mechanism. It ensures that those entrusted with shaping the minds of our future Generations possess not only the academic knowledge but also professional competencies and ethical standards required for the Job. GTLE Exam has been given to many of my former students.

The GTLE has not been cancelled. However, there will be a change in the Mode and timing of the examination.

Effective August 30, 2025 candidates will no longer write the GTLE.

Instead, the exam will be written immediately after programme completion.

This new arrangements applies to final year students who are expected to complete their programmes from the colleges of education by September 18, 2025.

This new model will guide the Teacher licensure exam beyond solely paper based assessments. Mr. Iddrisu noted that the new model would be implemented as soon as practicable, following the conclusion of the final licensure opportunity for candidates who need to resit or join the exam.

How to Check Ghana Teacher Licensure Exam Results 2025

In order to be recognized as a teacher in Ghana, one must pass the Ghana teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

• First of examinees visit its official web portal @exams.ntc.gov.gh
• The Homepage of the National Teaching Council appears on screen
• Find GTLE Section in the Main Menu at the Top.
• Click on the Check results button
• Enter your Serial number and pin and Submit
• On the next page you will see GTLE Results 2025

Note: Candidates are advised to print their Provisional certificates after checking Results.
